We are Primarily Spiritual and Biological Beings

Contrary to what the 3D material and technological world tells us, we are spiritual beings of the first order followed closely by our biological nature. I'm sure we lost many of you with the "3D world" phraseology, but crack open the mind and sit with it just a minute. There is truly nothing to lose and if you it doesn't resonate with you in the end, you may freely discard it. If you consider a spiritual, or energetic nature if you prefer, at the top of the hierarchy of being that means it is the source from which all flows – the genesis or keystone of the nature of being itself. If it is true that this spiritual nature is first and primary, then it needs to be nurtured, tended to, fed.

In our current state of humanity, consciousness and world order, we have the physical nature at the top of the hierarchy and that is exactly upside down; hence rampant addiction and emotional/mental disturbance in all its various forms – alcohol, drugs, materialism, work, food, shame, low self-esteem, anxiety; all the way down to expressions of crime and war. All of this is compounded as we try to swim in a lightning-fast sea of technological advances. Many of us are are hollow whilst stuffing ourselves with stuff and more stuff until we are empty vessels bursting at the seams. We find ourselves confused and wandering aimlessly with a general sense of being moorless, unanchored, untethered with no North Star, Ground of Being or compass towards wholeness and healthy expression of being rooted in compassion, cooperation and communication.

The perspective of spiritual or energetic being first in order of creation aligns with teachings in the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) book. Stop. This is not pitch for AA or any belief system or religion because the "North Star" is to be found in each person individually according to their own sovereign terms. Let's begin again understanding this is just a reference. This perspective aligns with teachings in the Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) book specifically on page 64, where it states, "When the spiritual malady is overcome, we straighten out mentally and physically." This proposes the maladjusted physical or psychological issue is deeply rooted in a spiritual disconnection. The “spiritual malady” mentioned in the AA text refers to a sense of inner emptiness or lack of connection to a higher purpose or power. Addressing this spiritual emptiness is crucial to overcoming addiction, any unwellness of being, or lack of true and high expression of each individual life.

So where do we begin? We can start simply with contemplation, curiosity, exploration or adventure. If you don't have a path or your current path is not yielding the results of wholeness and peace, there are numerous paths for spiritual exploration via books, podcasts, religious or spiritual gatherings, encounters with nature. I've heard it expressed as, "Just go out and look at the stars in the night sky and say, Hi." That is a wonderful first step towards the discovery of the vast reservoir of light, guidance and peace that lies within each of us.
